Aside from the crisp air, shorter days, pumpkin everything (and no bugs!) the one other thing people associate with autumn is lots and lots and lots of leaves on the ground.
You can always rake them up into a big pile and jump into them, but there are other things you can do with those leaves, including crafts.
We are going to look at a couple of crafts you can make with autumn leaves stimulate your child's creativity and imagination. The first is an autumn wreath and the second is a fox face.
Let's get started!
Leaf Wreath
This craft comes to us courtesy of Kidspot on YouTube.
What You'll Need:
Step 1: Gather Leaves
Step 2: Fold the paper plate in half and cut out the middle so you are only left with a ring.
Step 3: Glue the leaves onto the circle, making sure to overlap them. You may need to use a stapler to get some to stick if they aren't sticking well with just glue.
Step 4: Cover the entire circle with leaves until you can't see anymore of the paper plate circle.
Step 5: Take your ribbon (a fall color will work best) and tie it into a bow.
Step 6: Glue the bow onto the bottom of your wreath.
Step 7: Cut some shorter pieces of ribbon and glue them on at various points.
Step 8: Trim off the stems of the leaves that are poking into the center of your wreath.
Step 9: Hang your wreath on the door and admire!

Wasn't that fun? But, what are you going to do with all of those extra leaves you have? How about making animal faces with them? Here is a quick craft tutorial from SreeCrafts on YouTube to show you how to make a fox face out of a maple leaf and some smaller leaves.
What you'll need: A marker and ...
Step 1: Turn the maple leaf upside down and glue two of the small leaves onto the top of the upside down maple leaf.
Step 2: Glue the third small leaf onto the bottom of the upside down maple leaf.
Step 3: Glue the two googly eyes onto the middle of the maple leaf.
Step 4: Use your marker to draw whiskers on your fox's face.
