Learning Toy Company Click-A-Brick Thrilled That 2016 Toy Fair Will Feature Sister Event For Public

The team behind learning toy Click-A-Brick is pleased to hear about the launch of the Play Fair event at the Toy Industry Association’s North American International Toy Fair in New York next year, saying it will give the public an opportunity to not just see new toy offerings, but to interact with them, as well.

Billed as “a celebration of play and entertainment for all ages,” the inaugural Play Fair event will run Feb. 13-14 at the Jacob Javits Center North in New York City during the 2016 Toy Fair, which itself runs Feb. 13-16. The Toy Industry Association (TIA) has partnered with LeftField Media to launch Play Fair, where the public will be able to interact with their favorite toys, games, and entertainment brands.

Play Fair will feature toy reveals, photo ops, character interactions, stage performances, author readings, celebrity signings, live music, and giveaways geared toward both children and adults. Plus, attendees will be able to purchase products available exclusively at the show, limited edition products, and rare variants of toys and games.

“Play Fair will provide toy lovers of all ages with unique and unparalleled access to enriching immersive events and experiences built around the power of play,” Marian Bossard, senior vice president of global market events for the TIA said in a news release. “It’s a truly one-of-a-kind event for families and fans to explore nostalgic and innovative toys and brands in an all-ages atmosphere that can’t be beat!”

The entrepreneurial duo behind learning toy Click-A-Brick say the Play Fair event will add an exciting element for the public to the annual Toy Fair, which is not open to the public and only allows retailers, wholesalers, importer-distributors, buying groups and manufactures' reps from within the toy industry to attend.

“Obviously the Toy Fair in New York is one of the biggest events in the toy industry, but it has that air of being for toy industry insiders,” Click-A-Brick Co-Founder Jason Smith said. “The new Play Fair event is great because it’s specifically for the public and invites them in to see all kinds of cool new stuff going on with toys. It kind of says the Toy Fair isn’t just for toy industry people now, it’s for everyone to come and enjoy and maybe get their hands on some really exclusive toys. It just makes the entire event more inviting for the public so we’re excited about this announcement.”

Next year’s Toy Fair will be the 113th edition of the largest toy trade show in the Western Hemisphere and is expected to draw 30,000 manufacturers, distributors, importers, and sales agents from over 90 countries.
