It’s almost here! It’s almost here! We’re talking about Mother’s Day, of course. It’s the time of year that everybody loves because they get to give something special to their mom. The most special thing you can give to your mom is something that you’ve made yourself. We think the best things you can make are all made from Click-A-Bricks, but we also love us some crafts around here.
We looked high and low for something amazing to make for Mother’s Day and we came across this easy Mother’s Day card from the Art for Kids Hub YouTube channel.
Just follow the simple steps and you’ll have a 3D Mother’s Day card that any mother would love to receive.
What you’ll need:
- Construction paper in blue, yellow, pink and green
- Markers
- Glue
- Scissors
Step 1
Take a half sheet of blue construction paper and draw four flowers on it. For simple flowers, draw the letter “U” five times connecting in a circle.
Step 2
Take a little bit of the yellow construction paper and draw four circles that are small enough to fit into the center of the flowers you drew.
Step 3
Cut out your flowers and flower centers.
Step 4
Take another half sheet of blue construction paper and draw your bow. Start by drawing a square in the middle of the paper.
Then draw two lines coming out diagonally from the corners of the square on the right side.
Do the same on the left side.
Connect the lines on the right side by a line that curves slightly outward. Do the same with the two lines on the left side.
Draw two short lines beside the square on either side. These will be the wrinkles in the bow.
Draw two lines coming out of the left side of the bottom of the square curving to the left. Connect these two lines at the bottom. This will be one of the tails of the bow.
Do the same on the other side to create the other tail of the bow.
Step 5
Cut out your bow.
Step 6
Glue the yellow circles onto the center of your flowers.
Step 7
Take a full sheet of pink construction paper and fold it in half.
Step 8
Take half a sheet of green construction paper and cut four long, thin strips off of it.
Step 9
Put glue on your thin, green strips of paper, but leave an inch or so unglued at the top.
Step 10
Glue your thin, green strips to your pink construction paper lengthwise. Make sure the opening of the card is facing to the right when you glue your green strips on.
Step 11
Bend down the tops of your thin, green strips.
Step 12
Put glue on the bent down portion of the green strips. Make sure you only get glue on the strips and not on your card.
Step 13
Put your four flowers on the bent down portion of the green strips where it has glue.
Step 14
Put some glue on the back of your bow and put the bow over the four green strips. This is your bow on the flower stems.
You now have a cute, little bouquet of flowers to give your mom! If your stems hang over the bottom of the card, you can cut them off the bottom. Write a special note inside and give it to your mom on Mother’s Day!
When you’re done with that, grab your Click-A-Bricks and make something super duper special out of them for your mom.
She deserves it!
